Our Fall Bible study will be "Journeys Through Revelation" by Barbara R. Rossing

What comes to mind when you think of the book of Revelation? Scary images? The four horsemen come to unleash destruction? Mysterious numbers such as “666”? The endtime battle of Armageddon? In recent years, an enormous prophecy industry has marketed frightening images of Revelation, leaving many people intimidated by this amazing and often misunderstood book. Although brimming with mysterious symbolism, Revelation ultimately is a book of hope that throughout history has sustained people who are oppressed. It is a wonderfully Christ centered book, full of worship and praise. Read more.

We have a time for fellowship and Bible study. Feel free to attend at anytime, no experience necessary! Check the Calendar for more info.

Presbyterian Women

“For as in one body we have many members, and not all the members have the same functions, so we who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually we are members one of another. We have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us.”

An Invitation to:
Join other Presbyterian Women in continuing their heritage of participation in global mission, advocacy for human rights and the leadership development of women, locally and globally . . .

Share, through this supportive community, your gifts, discovered, developed and used with appreciation, thereby enriching your own spiritual life . . .

Invest your own unique talents and time to help make important decisions, provide leadership for meaningful action and witness to God’s love and grace . . .

Celebrate with others the good news lived out in community; the unity with diversity, enriching all; your partnership with God and other women by which you make a difference in your own unique way, and contribute to a world of justice and peace yet to be . . .

PW Mission Opportunities

CALLING ALL KNITTERS AND CROCHETERS!

‘People and Congregations Engaged in Ministry’, or PACEM, run homeless shelters for men and women out of Charlottesville area churches each winter. They are interested in providing scarves to shelter guests to help keep them warm through the winter. Scarves for men are typically made about 8 inches wide and 6 feet long. The extra length works well to be doubled for extra warmth.  Dark colors are suggested, like forest green, dark blue, gray, and brown. Scarves have also been made for women and a few children. Variegated colors are suggested and those for women have been made about 5 feet long. Interested in contributing, but not a knitter? PW will collect yarn and pass it on the knitters and crocheters in the church. If you are interested, but need more information, contact Liz Doyle Carroll eadoyle1@juno.com.
