About Leadership
Jay Sanderford, PastorJay is a graduate of the University of North Carolina and he received a Master of Divinity degree from Yale University Divinity School. In twenty years of ministry, Jay has served as associate pastor at churches in Florida, Maryland and in Charlottesville, as well as executive director of a non-profit agency. Jay and his wife Beth have two grown children.
Kris Cushman, Music DirectorKris has been teaching piano and accompanying musicians for over 30 years. She has a B.S. in Math, with a minor in Music, and a M.S. in Counselor Education from the University of Wisconsin. In addition to teaching in her private studio, Kris accompanies the Piedmont Virginia Community College Chorus as well as other groups and individuals in the area. Kris and her husband, Dave, have two grown daughters.
Leslie Bailey, Church AdministratorLeslie has served in numerous capacities of leadership for Blue Ridge since 2004, including serving as Clerk of Session and Finance Chair. She has transferred her experience in those areas to the growing realm of Church Administrator. Leslie has a BA in Education, with a minor in Music, from Grove City College. Outside of her work in finance and administration for the church, Leslie supports her husband's songwriting and performance from their home office, in addition to being the proud mother of two great kids.
Pat Barbara, Child Care Provider"Miss Pat" is our child care provider at the 11 a.m. service. Pat teaches preschool at Clark Elementary in Charlottesville. Pat grew up primarily overseas and graduated from high school in Alexandria Egypt from Schutz American School, originally a Presbyterian missionary school. She says, “I enjoy working with the children during the 11:00 service. I am closely related to the piano/harp player, she is my sister! Blue Ridge is a great
family in Christ!” Pat has two grown children, Gina, and Joey, who is currently serving in the military.
